Drag the crank handle on the right, or hold →. The faster the wheel turns the louder the six drones. Fret the melody string with 1 through 8 — one D Dorian octave, from tonic to tonic. Press T to arm the trompette: it barks only when you crank hard enough for a real player's wheel to have loaded the bridge, so you have to work for the buzz. Space quiets the strings the way a real player would drop the crank and mute with the palm. The Tunebook below plays three period tunes by driving the crank and keyboard itself — touch a key, the crank, or Space and it hands control back to you mid-phrase.
